SLO High Senior Photos on Golf Course
I’ve had the absolute privilege of photographing Michael and his family for the past eight years, and getting to capture this milestone, his senior year, felt incredibly special. I’ve truly watched him grow up both behind my camera and in real life, and he’s become such an amazing young man with the kindest heart. I may have gotten a little sentimental during this session, but we also had so much fun.
Michael has been a member of the SLO High Varsity golf team for the last four years, so choosing the Monarch Dunes Golf Club in Nipomo for his senior photos couldn’t have been more perfect. It’s a place that represents so much of his high school experience. With special permission to access the back holes, we were able to explore some incredible spots, chase the best light, and make the most of a quiet, beautiful day. Cruising around in a golf cart definitely added to the fun.
One of the most sentimental parts of Michael’s senior session was a heartfelt tribute to his dad. His mom had the incredible idea to recreate one of his dad’s senior photos. She added one of Michael’s golf patches to his dad’s letterman jacket (yes, cue all the emotions). We took time to replicate the original photo and then added a few updated shots with Michael’s own personality woven in. These are the moments I always encourage my seniors and families to include, personal, meaningful details that turn a photo session into something truly unforgettable. Dad may or may not have shed a tear or two when he saw those photos.
For parents, I know how emotional this season can be. Senior year is such a huge milestone, and these sessions are about more than just photos. They’re about preserving who your child is right now, before they step into their next chapter. It’s always my goal to create an experience that feels comfortable, fun, and meaningful, so your senior’s personality shines while also giving you images you’ll treasure forever.
In just a few short months, Michael will be heading to California State University, Sacramento, where he’s committed to continuing his golf career. He’s going to be missed so much, but I couldn’t be more excited to see everything he accomplishes next.
Congratulations, Michael! I’m so proud of you and can’t wait to see where life takes you next!
